The Ashes: Australia's Josh Hazlewood to miss entire series but Pat Cummins set to return in third Test vs England

Australia's Fast Bowler Josh Hazlewood to Miss Entire Ashes Series Due to Injury

Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood will miss the entire Ashes series against England due to a hamstring injury. The 34-year-old, who was considered crucial for Australia's attack, will have to watch from the sidelines as his team battles it out for the coveted trophy.

Hazlewood's injury has already caused concerns for the Australian camp, with the team opting not to risk him in their previous two Test matches against England. Now, he is being troubled by an Achilles problem, which will make his recovery even more challenging.

Baggy Greens head coach Andrew McDonald expressed disappointment at Hazlewood's setback, saying that his absence will be felt throughout the series. "He's had a couple of setbacks that we didn't see coming," McDonald said. "We thought he'd play a huge part in the series, so we really feel for him that he won't get that opportunity."

However, there is good news on the horizon as captain and fellow seamer Pat Cummins is set to return for the third Test against England at Adelaide from December 17. Cummins had missed two Test matches due to a back problem but has been working hard to regain his form.

"We think he's ready," said McDonald. "He was out at Allan Border Field while everyone was at The Gabba, and we've simulated pretty much what a match will look like out there with multiple spells. So, we feel as though he'll be as best prepared as he can be."

Meanwhile, veteran batter Usman Khawaja is also in contention to return for the third Test against England. Khawaja had missed the second game at The Gabba due to a back problem but could potentially feature in the middle order if he plays.

"We like to think that all our batters have the flexibility to perform anywhere in that order," said McDonald. "The assumption is that Uzzie can only open, but we're open to what it will look like for us moving forward."

Overall, while Hazlewood's injury is a significant blow to Australia's attack, Cummins and Khawaja provide some much-needed depth to their lineup. With the series hanging in the balance, the Australian team will need to find ways to adapt and overcome their opponents' strategy.

Ashes Series Schedule:

* First Test: Perth (Nov 25-29)
* Second Test: Brisbane (Dec 3-7)
* Third Test: Adelaide (Dec 17-21)

aww man πŸ˜” gotta feel bad for hazlewood, been through some setbacks already & now this new achilles problem πŸ€• hopefully pat cummins can bring his A-game back soon! πŸ’ͺ he's always a threat with the ball in hand. and good to see usman khawaja giving us hope for that middle order spot πŸ™ gotta have depth in the team to overcome england's batsmen. fingers crossed for australia to come out on top this series πŸ”₯

Aussie bowlers are taking a bit of a hammering right now πŸ€•. Hope Hazlewood recovers soon, he's been doing well in the past. Pat Cummins' return is a big plus, but gotta feel for Josh... πŸ’”. Guess you can't win 'em all with injuries πŸ†

man... the way this injury bug is hitting australia's team is like a reminder that we're not invincible, you know? one bad day and your best players are out of commission πŸ€•. it's all about perspective tho - on one hand, hazlewood's absence is a huge blow to their attack, but on the other hand, pat cummins' return and usman khawaja's potential comeback bring some much-needed depth to their lineup... like, maybe this series isn't a lost cause after all 🌟. it's just a reminder that life's full of ups and downs, and you gotta adapt to keep moving forward πŸ’ͺ

πŸ˜’ I feel bad for Josh Hazlewood, he's been having a rough spell with injuries and it's not fair to him that he can't even play the Ashes series... or at least, try to πŸ˜”. But on the bright side, Pat Cummins is back in form and Usman Khawaja could be a game changer in the middle order 🀞. I hope Australia's team can adapt and find ways to win without Hazlewood, it'll be tough but they've got this πŸ’ͺ.

ugh i know aussie cricket is not getting the love they deserve πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ they're getting absolutely roasted on social media and it's just not fair πŸ˜’ hazlewood is a talented player and his injury is a huge blow to their attack, but at least pat cummins is back in the mix ✨ that guy can turn games around so quickly. and now usman khawaja might be able to come in and give them some much-needed depth 🀞 fingers crossed they can still manage to take the ashes πŸ†

awww man, cant believe hazlewood's gonna miss the entire ashes series πŸ€•πŸ˜ž his injury sounds so tough to recover from. i feel bad for him, he's a crucial part of australia's attack and it's just not fair that he won't get to be out there on the field. but on the bright side, pat cummins is coming back in time for the third test and usman khawaja is looking good to return too 🀞🏽πŸ’ͺ hopefully they can help fill the gap left by hazlewood's absence and bring some much-needed depth to australia's lineup πŸ“ˆ

πŸ€• man this is a huge blow for aussies their fast bowling attack just got depleted like what's next gonna happen with their chances of winning the ashes series? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

i feel bad for hazlewood he was looking solid before this injury happened now he's gotta sit out and watch his team struggle without him. poor guy must be going thru a rough time atm πŸ˜”

on the other hand pat cummins is back and that's like a breath of fresh air i hope he can perform well enough to help aussies regain their momentum 🀞

and then there's khawaja who's also in contention to return for the third test i reckon that's a good sign for aussies' batting lineup... fingers crossed it all works out! 🀞🏽

man, this is a tough break for aussie cricket πŸ€•. hazlewood's been on fire lately and his absence is gonna hurt their attack. they need him to take wickets and put pressure on england's batsmen. but on the bright side, cummins' return is a huge boost - he's one of the best fast bowlers in the world and will definitely give england a run for their money πŸ’ͺ. khawaja also looks like a decent replacement, he's had some big innings in the past. fingers crossed australia can find ways to adapt and still win the series 🀞. it's gonna be an interesting few tests! ⚾️

Aww man, another big loss for the Aussie team πŸ€•. Josh Hazlewood's injury is a tough one to swallow, especially with Ashes on the line. But at least Pat Cummins and Usman Khawaja are back in the mix πŸ’ͺ🏼. It's gonna be interesting to see how the team adapts without Hazlewood's pace and experience πŸ€”. Guess they'll have to find new ways to outsmart the English batsmen 😐.

πŸ€•πŸ˜¬ So Aussie cricket is in a tough spot without Hazlewood, but at least they have Cummins and Khawaja to bring back some balance. Hope Pat gets fit on time for the third test πŸ’οΈ fingers crossed! πŸ˜…

πŸ‘ The thing is with Ashes series it's not just about one player, you gotta think as a team 🀝 so let's see how they adjust their lineup without Hazlewood πŸ’

omg this is a huge blow for australia's bowling attack πŸ€• hazlewood was gonna be the x-factor in that series but now he's out and pat cummins is back which is good news πŸ’ͺ lets hope cummins can get some wickets though because england's batsmen are not gonna roll over easy 😏 plus usman khawaja might come into the middle order to provide some depth for australia's lineup πŸ€” fingers crossed they can pull off that ashes series 2-1 or better πŸ™

aww man this is bad news for Aussie cricket team πŸ€• josh hazlewood was like their ace bowler and now he's gonna miss the entire ashes series due to a hamstring injury 😩 it's not just him tho, hamstrings are super common injuries so i feel for pat cummins too 🀞 hopefully he'll come back fresh in adelaide and make an impact on the third test 🌟 and usman khawaja is always good for a surprise batting performance 🎯 fingers crossed for the aussies to pull it through! ⚑️

OH NO, THIS IS A BLOW FOR THE AUSTRALIAN TEAM!!! JOSH HAZLEWOOD WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A KEY PLAYER IN THE SERIES AND NOW HE'S GOING TO HAVE TO WATCH FROM THE SIDELINES πŸ€•. BUT ON THE OTHER HAND, PAT CUMMINS IS BACK AND READY TO TAKE ON ENGLAND! THAT'S LIKE A BOON FOR AUSTRALIA!!! AND IT LOOKS LIKE USMAN KHAWAJA IS ALSO IN THE RUNNING TO MAKE A COMEBACK, WHICH WOULD BE AMAZING πŸŽ‰. LET'S HOPE THE AUSTRALIANS CAN FIND A WAY TO ADAPT WITHOUT HAZLEWOOD AND STILL TAKE HOME THAT ASHES TROPHY!!!

ugh man what a bummer for australia πŸ€• hazlewood was lookin like a key player in the ashes series now he's gotta sit out due to another injury πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ it's like a domino effect with pat cummins also dealin with some back problems i hope he recovers ASAP so he can bring that fire to the pitch πŸ’ͺ and usman khawaja comin back into contention is def a positive for australia πŸ™Œ gotta see how they adapt their lineup without hazlewood but overall, the aussie team's depth is lookin pretty good πŸ”₯

awww man πŸ˜” this is bad news for aussie cricket. hazlewood's injury is a big blow, especially with ashes series being so crucial πŸ€• hopefully pat cummins and usman khawaja can fill the void tho πŸ’ͺ. gotta keep an eye on these two blokes as they come back from their injuries πŸ‘€, fingers crossed australia can get some momentum back in this series πŸ’₯. anyway, gotta give it to team aus for being super transparent about hazlewood's injury 😊. hope he recovers soon and gets back out there πŸ™

man this is bad news for aussie cricket πŸ€• josh hazlewood was looking strong just before he got hurt now they gotta rely on pat cummins and usman khawaja to step up his game i dont think its gonna be easy tho england has some talented bowlers too so fingers crossed australia can still pull it off but this injury does raise some concerns about the depth of their squad

πŸ˜’ Ashes series just got a lot more interesting... and also a lot less interesting. Like, I know injuries are part of the game, but can't we just have one strong team for once? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

Josh Hazlewood's absence is huge, but at least they've got Pat Cummins coming back to shore up their attack. That's like a silver lining... kinda? πŸ’ͺ On the other hand, Usman Khawaja's return could be a game-changer for Australia's batting lineup.

But let's be real, this series is all about who can adapt and overcome their opponents' strategy. It's not just about having one or two superstars on your team. It's about depth, it's about chemistry... and sometimes, it's just about luck. 😳
