42 Dugg and Lil Baby make special appearances on Playboi Carti’s ‘Antagonist’ tour - Detroit Metro Times

Playboi Carti's 'Antagonist' Tour Brings High-Energy Performance to Little Caesars Arena

Last Halloween night, the Atlanta-born rapper brought his "Antagonist" tour to Little Caesars Arena, marking the 15th stop on a 28-city tour that has already taken fans on an energetic rollercoaster ride. The event was set up in collaboration with Carti's Opium labelmate Apollo Red and featured sets from Homixide Gang, Destroy Lonely, and Ken Carson, all of which quickly generated a mosh pit on the main floor.

As the night began at 7 p.m., fans donned black outfits and white face paint to match Carti's signature dark aesthetic. The rapper himself took the stage at 9:50 p.m., beginning with his opening track "Pop Out" from his third studio album Music, released in March. Despite a visually striking setup – including two pickup trucks on either side of the floor used as props and multiple fog machines that kept him hidden throughout the performance – Carti's high-energy set was somewhat hindered by the lack of direct stage lighting.

Carti's music is known for its addictive vibe and minimalistic rhyme schemes, often prioritizing atmosphere over traditional rap flows. He has built a cult following and his studio albums Die Lit and Whole Lotta Red have been certified gold, with his 2017 self-titled mixtape going platinum.

The performance itself was a whirlwind of sound and motion, with Carti seamlessly transitioning between songs that showcased his impressive catalog. A highlight came when he brought out fellow Atlanta native Lil Baby for a guest appearance, as well as Detroit local 42 Dugg to perform "We Paid". Outside of a brief interaction with the crowd at the start of his set, Carti kept his banter minimal, instead delivering a non-stop performance that lasted nearly two hours.

Throughout the show, Carti performed many tracks from Music, including fan favorites like "Crank," "Cocaine Nose," and "Charge Dem Hoes a Fee." His setlist also included other popular songs like "Fein" and "Timeless," culminating in a haunting performance of his track "24 Songs."

I just got back from that concert at Little Caesars Arena 🤯 and I'm still buzzing from the energy 💥. Playboi Carti's live show is all about the vibe, you know? He didn't waste any time getting on stage and just dropped those sick beats 🔥. The visuals were fire too, but honestly, sometimes less is more when it comes to lighting – it didn't take away from the overall experience at all 🎤. I loved how he kept his setlist pretty tight and stuck to his discography, it was like a rollercoaster ride of emotions 😂. I was totally caught up in the mosh pit vibe on the main floor, everyone was just lost in the music 🌪️. One thing that stood out to me was how minimal his banter was – he just let the music speak for itself 👍. Overall, it was an insane show and I'm so glad I got to experience it 🔥🎉

yo, Carti killed it on stage 🤘🏽! his energy is infectious, you can feel the vibe from afar 💃. i love how he just goes all out with no holds barred, no worries about what others think 💁‍♂️. his music is like a rollercoaster ride, u never know what's gonna happen next 🎠. and that guest appearance with Lil Baby was fire 🔥! Carti's got this cult following for a reason, he's one of the most talented young rappers out there right now 💯. some ppl might say his set was a bit dark or whatever, but i think that's part of what makes it so iconic 🕷️.

omg did u know that pizza delivery guys r the real MVPs? i mean, think about it... they gotta deal w/ crazy ppl on halloween night, and then still manage 2 bring u ur fave slice 🍕👻 anyway, back 2 Playboi Carti... his tour was SO lit!! i loved how he kept the energy high w/o even sayin much to the crowd 😎

Just saw Playboi Carti's 'Antagonist' tour and that dude can HYPED 🤩! High-energy vibes all night long, no chill 😎. Perfect setlist, everything flowed so well... except for the lighting, fam? Needed a bit more glow 💡

idk why ppl r so hyped about Playboi Carti's shows... yeah he's got that addictive vibe goin on, but it's just all noise to me 🤷‍♂️. the energy's there, I'll give him that, but it's like a sugar rush or somethin' - it wears off after a hot minute. and don't even get me started on the lack of stage lighting... how can u really connect with the music when u cant see what's goin on? 🌑. the crowd was all dressed up in black and white, but it just felt like everyone was tryin to fit into this aesthetic rather than actually enjoyin the music. and have u seen his setlists? same old tracks every time... i mean, i guess if u r a die-hard fan or somethin', it's cool, but for me, it's just more of the same old thing 🎸.

omg what a night 🤩!!! Playboi Carti absolutely brought the house down with that high-energy performance 🎸! i mean, 2 hours straight without a break? mind blown 💥. and lil baby guest appearance was EVERYTHING 🙌. plus that setlist? carti is a genius when it comes to curating his songs - got everything from the crowd fave "crank" to some newer tracks like "fein". the whole vibe was so dark & edgy, matching his signature style perfectly 💀. can't wait to see what's next for this talented artist 🤞

Wow 🤩 this dude Playboi Carti knows how to put on a show! The high-energy vibes, the black outfits, white face paint... it's all so cool 😎. I loved that he kept it minimal with no direct stage lighting, it added to the overall atmosphere of his music. And bringing out Lil Baby and 42 Dugg for guest appearances was genius 💥. Carti's music is infectious, even if you're not a fan of rap, you can't deny the energy of his performances.

Carti's show was lit 💥, but the lack of stage lighting felt like a buzzkill 🎯. Still, he slayed the crowd with his energy and minimalistic vibes 🕺💖. I love how he keeps it simple and brings out other artists to hype up the set 🔥👊

omg i loved the energy at playboi carti's show 🤯! they really knew how to set the mood with that dark aesthetic, it was so lit 🔥. but like, can we talk about how much i hate when there's no good lighting on stage tho? it makes it hard to see what's going on and the fog machines are just kinda cool but not enough 🤷‍♀️. anyway, carti is a genius for his whole vibe thing and how he always keeps it simple yet addictive 💯. i'm also here for him bringing out lil baby & 42 dugg - that was pure magic!

I'm so stoked for Playboi Carti's "Antagonist" tour! 🎉🔥 The energy was electric, and I love how he didn't hold back on stage. Here's my try at a quick diagram to visualize the performance:

The lack of direct stage lighting was a minor detail, but it didn't dampen the vibe. Carti's music is all about atmosphere and vibe, right? It's no wonder he's built such a loyal fan base! 🤘

🚨just saw that Playboi Carti's 'Antagonist' Tour stopped by Little Caesars Arena 🏟️ and it was straight fire 🔥 but honestly, I'm still trying to process the 2hr set 🤯 anyone else think that's a bit excessive? and btw, who thought it was a good idea to have fog machines at like 10ft away from the crowd?! 😷 also, Carti keeping it minimal with his banter, I get it, but a lil interaction with the crowd would've been nice 🤗

omg this little caesars arena show was lit!!! Playboi Carti brought the energy 🤩! I loved how he kept it simple with minimal stage lighting, it added to the high-intensity vibe. And bruh, him performing a whole 2 hours without stopping is insane ⏰! The crowd was totally hyped and I can see why he's got such a cult following - his music just gets you moving 💃. Lil Baby and 42 Dugg coming through as special guests was the icing on the cake 🎂, it really made the show unforgettable!

OMG u guys Playboi Carti just killed it on stage!!! 🤩 I loved how energetic the whole crowd was, even tho some ppl said the stage lighting was kinda weird lol. Like Carti's style is all about that dark vibe & atmosphere, so it kinda made sense? But idk man, it would've been lit if they had direct stage lights lol. Anyways, his setlist was SO fire, he brought out Lil Baby & 42 Dugg which was awesome 🤯! That 2 hour performance tho?! I need a minute to recover from all that energy 😴 I'm def gonna cop Music now, how's it tho? 🎵

omg yooo 🤩, Playboi Carti's tour was SO LIT!!! 😍 the high-energy vibes were all over that stage, and i loved how he kept it minimal with no major rap battles or anything like that. it was more about the music and the crowd connection, which is exactly what his fans are there for 🎶 carti brought out some cool guests too, lil baby and 42 dugg added to the energy, and that "24 songs" performance gave me CHILLS 😭 it's crazy how he can make you wanna dance and sing along to pretty much any song he plays 💃🏽
