Cole Palmer: Chelsea forward fit and available to start against Arsenal, Enzo Maresca confirms

Chelsea are set to welcome Cole Palmer back into their starting lineup as the striker, who has been sidelined for over 10 weeks due to a recurring groin problem, is confirmed to be fit and available for Sunday's Premier League clash against Arsenal.

The 22-year-old forward suffered an injury at home last month when he broke his toe in an accident. He then returned to training later than initially planned, but has only managed two starts this season, with the majority of that time spent on the bench. Palmer scored a goal in a Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich just before his injury, and has not completed 90 minutes since then.

Manager Enzo Maresca was thrilled to confirm that Palmer is available for selection for the visit of Arsenal, who are currently top of the Premier League table. "He's available for both," Maresca said when asked if Palmer would feature on Sunday and if he were ready from the start. "Good news for both. Everyone is happy [he is back]. The most important thing is that Cole is happy."

Palmer's return to action could be just what Chelsea need, particularly in a match against one of their biggest rivals. The Blues have struggled against Arsenal in recent years, winning just one of their last 11 Premier League games against the Gunners and failing to win any of their seven matches against them since August 2021.

Despite this, Maresca remains optimistic about his team's chances, saying: "It's too early to worry about that. We're six months away from February and March, and then we'll see what we can achieve." Chelsea have already shown signs of improvement in big games, beating Liverpool and Barcelona without Palmer this season.

Maresca is also excited about the prospect of pairing Palmer with Brazilian hotshot Estevao, who scored a goal against Barcelona last week. The manager believes that the partnership could be "fireworks," and he's eager to see how they'll work together on the pitch. With Chelsea struggling to create chances in big games, Maresca is hoping that Palmer and Estevao will provide the spark needed to take his team to the next level.

The visit of Arsenal will provide a perfect test for Chelsea's new-look attacking lineup, which could potentially be spearheaded by the partnership of Palmer and Estevao. If they can replicate their performances against Liverpool and Barcelona, then Maresca may have finally found the missing piece in the puzzle that has been plaguing his team all season.

In the end, it remains to be seen whether Palmer will indeed start for Chelsea on Sunday, but one thing is certain: his return could be a game-changer for the Blues.

Omg I'm so hyped about Cole Palmer's comeback!!! 🤩 It's like, he's been gone for ages and everyone's been missing him so much 😔 But at the same time, I feel bad for him because groin problems are super painful 🤕 And now that he's back, it's going to be awesome to see him on the pitch again 🏟️ I love how excited the gaffer is about pairing him with Estevao too 💥 It's like a match made in heaven! 🔥 But, like, can they please just win against Arsenal already? 😂 We've been waiting for so long and it's getting kinda frustrating ⏰

I think Cole Palmer being back in form can make a huge difference for Chelsea's attack 🤩💪 They've been struggling to create chances in big games, and having him alongside Estevao could be just what they need 🔥🔴 I mean, Estevao's been scoring goals left and right, and if they can get Palmer back up to speed, that partnership could be unstoppable 💨😲

🤔 Cole Palmer's back and that's good news for Chelsea 📈💪
They've struggled against Arsenal in recent years and need a boost in attack ⚽
Estevao's form is nice but they can't create chances like they should be able to 🤷‍♂️
If Palmer starts, it could be the spark that ignites their attacks 🔥
The question is, will he start on Sunday? 🕰️
Maresca's optimism is welcome but results are what matter 💯

I think Chelsea's decision to bring Cole Palmer back into the starting lineup could be a huge boost for their attack 🤔. After missing out on 10 weeks of action due to injury, it'll be interesting to see how he adjusts to Premier League pace again ⏱️. With his pace and finishing skills, he could be just what Chelsea need to take down Arsenal this Sunday ⚽️. The partnership with Estevao is also intriguing, as I think their differing playing styles could create some exciting opportunities for the Blues 🔥. Maresca's optimism about his team's chances might be justified, but it'll ultimately depend on how well Palmer and Estevao gel as a unit 👊. One thing's for sure, though - this match has all the makings of an epic showdown between two top Premier League teams 🏆

you know what's been bugging me lately? i was at this cafe over the weekend and they have this new menu item that's supposed to be super trendy... it's these little cups of coffee that are like, infused with tea or something? anyway, i tried one and it was SO weird. like, in a good way? not sure if i'd order it again tho...

💼👊 Looks like they've finally got their striker back, that's a big boost for them. Been struggling against Arsenal, so fingers crossed Palmer can turn that around. Hopefully he'll stay fit this time... 👍

idk why ppl r still downin chelsea's chances against arsenal lol they've been playin good in big games & got estevao now! cole palmer's back & that's defo a game-changer 💥🔥 might not start but he'll prob score a goal anyway 😂. Maresca's right, it's 6 months away from feb/march & we dont no wat happens till then 🤷‍♂️. lets jus hope the boys can gel with palmer & estevao 🔴⚽

Cole Palmer's back 🙌! Finally! He's been out for ages and I'm so over the hype around this guy. Like, I get it, he scored a goal in the Champions League, but that's not exactly a guarantee of greatness 😂. Maresca's trying to play it cool, saying it's too early to worry about beating Arsenal, but let's be real, Chelsea have struggled against them for years 🤦‍♂️.

I'm still not convinced this partnership with Estevao will be the magic solution 🔮. They've had some decent performances in big games, but that's just one win out of three and I'd love to see more consistency ⏰. Maybe Palmer's return is what they need, maybe it's not 🤔.

One thing's for sure, though: if Palmer starts on Sunday, he'll get plenty of chances to prove himself 💪. Wish him luck! 👍

🤔 I'm kinda feeling sorry for Cole Palmer, been injured for ages 😞 he's been struggling with that groin problem and it's not easy to come back from. The fact that Enzo Maresca is hyped about his return says a lot – trust me when I say Maresca knows what he's talking about 🙌

I'm also loving the idea of Palmer and Estevao pairing up on the pitch 🤩 it could be the spark Chelsea need to take their game to the next level. The manager's optimism is contagious, and if they can replicate those performances against Liverpool and Barcelona, I'd be super excited 👏

I don’t usually comment but... I think this is exactly what they needed - a fresh face and some spark in attack! Cole Palmer's been through a tough time with that injury but he's looking good to go now 🤞. Enzo Maresca's optimism about pairing him up with Estevao sounds legit, those two could create some magic on the pitch 🎯🔥. And let’s be real, who doesn’t love an underdog story? Chelsea getting back on track and beating Arsenal would be a massive confidence booster for them 💪. Can't wait to see how this all plays out!

lolol just imagine cole palmer finally back on the pitch 🤩 and scoring some big goals against arsenal lol what a boost that would give chelsea's season tho i mean they've been struggling and it sounds like cole is the missing piece to their puzzle i hope estevao can live up to the hype too 🤞 he's got a great goal against barcelona last week, but this is the big test now let's see if cole and estevao can lead chelsea to a win against arsenal

I think the biggest question isn't whether Cole Palmer can outperform Estevao, it's what's going to happen when they're not playing well. We've seen Chelsea struggle in big games before and now we're being asked to believe that this new partnership is suddenly going to turn everything around. I'm not convinced that just because Palmer's back from injury, our problems are solved. What if he's just as ineffective against Arsenal as he was against Bayern Munich? At least now we know he's fit, but what about his form when it matters most?

🤯 I'm so done with Chelsea's lack of consistency this season! They need Cole Palmer back ASAP, not just because he's a fresh face up front but also to give them some much-needed creativity in attack 📈. Estevao's a talented player, no doubt, but pairing him with Palmer could be the spark that sets them ablaze 🔥! Let's see if they can finally break their 11-game losing streak against Arsenal on Sunday 🏆...

I'm so glad Cole Palmer is back from injury! 10 weeks is ages in football and I can imagine how frustrating it must have been for him and the team 🤕🏥 He's been missing some big games too, so this is just in time. Enzo Maresca seems really positive about his return and pairing him with Estevao could be a great move 🔥💡 We've seen Chelsea struggle to create chances against top teams, but if Palmer can make an impact like he did before, that would be amazing 🙌

🤔 this is gonna be interesting... cole palmer's back and potentially paired with estevao... that combo could be deadly! but u think chelsea can finally take down arsenal? they've been getting destroyed by them lately 😳 6 months away from feb & march, let's see if they can keep the momentum going 💪

omg i'm so down for cole palmer's return 🙌, hes been missing like forever and i think he's gonna make a huge difference in their games against arsenal. 11 losses to them recently is crazy lol but if they can get palmer on the pitch with estevao, maybe they'll finally beat em 😅

🤔 Cole Palmer's back and he's like a fresh pair of kicks – not broken in yet! 10 weeks without him must've been a bummer for him, I'm sure he's itching to get back out there and show off his skills 🏃‍♂️. Chelsea definitely need some magic on the pitch, and if Palmer can bring that, they might just give Arsenal a run for their money 💥. But let's be real, they're gonna get smashed by 3-0... or at least that's what I'd wager 😜. On a serious note though, Maresca seems optimistic about this new partnership between Palmer and Estevao, and if it clicks, we might just see some fireworks on the pitch 💃!

I'm not convinced about this Cole Palmer kid 🤔. He's been out for ages and now he's back in? 10 weeks is a long time to be sidelined. What if it's more than that? And what about all those injuries he's had? You can't just keep throwing people like him at the pitch without them breaking down again 💔. I mean, I know Maresca says everyone's happy, but let's not get ahead of ourselves 🙃. The Blues still have a lot of work to do before they can even think about being contenders in this league...
